Arts & Performance at Wentworth
A Whole-School Culture of Creativity and Performance
The arts are an important part of life at Wentworth. Across both the Primary School and College, students are encouraged to develop confidence, creativity, and collaboration through regular opportunities to create, perform, and participate.
From visual arts in the classroom to drama and school productions, the arts support communication skills, student wellbeing, and a strong sense of community.
Drama & Performance
Curriculum Drama
Drama is a timetabled part of the curriculum for all students in Years 7 and 8. Through structured drama lessons, students develop communication skills, creativity, confidence, and collaboration, providing a strong foundation for performance and participation in productions.
In the Primary School, drama and performance are embedded across the curriculum through role-play, storytelling, and class presentations, supporting oral language development and confidence from an early age.
Productions
The Primary School presents its own production, providing students with an inclusive and age-appropriate performance experience. Students participate through acting, singing, and movement, developing confidence and teamwork in a supportive environment.
The College presents a major annual school production open to students across the College. Students may participate both on and off the stage, including acting, music, technical production, and backstage roles. The College production is often a highlight of student life and a defining collaborative experience.
Visual Arts
Visual Arts at Wentworth provides students with opportunities to explore creativity through a wide range of mediums, including drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, and digital art.
Across both Primary and College, students develop technical skills alongside creative thinking, learning to plan, refine, and present their work with care and purpose. The programme encourages experimentation and individuality, while building confidence in visual expression.
Students have opportunities to share and celebrate their work through classroom displays and exhibitions, contributing to the wider life of the school and fostering a sense of pride in their achievements.
