Netball is a strong sport at Wentworth, achieving the highest rate of student participation. We have teams from Years 7 – 13 playing at Netball North Harbour. The teams are graded and entered into appropriate competitions.
Intermediate Netball at North Harbour is on a Thursday afternoon/evening. Game times range from 4pm to 7.30pm.
HBC Netball Centre has Intermediate games on a Saturday morning and College games on Saturday afternoons from 12.20 – 3.30pm.
College games are held on a Saturday morning from 8.30am until midday. In the past, our top team won entry into Netball North Harbour’s prestigious Premier Grade. This saw our girls competing with the top 8 secondary school teams throughout North Harbour.
We support and encourage a range of playing abilities/attitudes, from a more relaxed social team to our top, most competitive teams. We are extremely fortunate to have excellent coaches for our teams with many years’ experience, some being representative coaches. The school is always keen to continue up-skilling our coaches with further courses and resources. We also encourage our students to attend courses and be mentored by an adult coach as they take their first steps in coaching. If you require more information about coaching or umpiring opportunities or courses, please either contact Dr Richard Rangi.
Please note that games are only cancelled in extreme weather conditions, i.e. thunder and lightning. Decisions are made as close to the game time as is viable to avoid cancellations if at all possible. Please either telephone the centre or look on the their website for updates. Where possible the centres will notify the manager/coach.
