Year 8 Camp

At Wentworth College we believe school camps are a wonderful opportunity for growth and a tremendously important aspect of each child’s school experience.

Our Year 8 Students enjoy a week at Lake Karapiro Camp, staying at the Rob Waddell Lodge on the lake’s edge. Sport Waikato provided a range of activities, including high and low challenge rope courses, team building games, orienteering, raft building and water activities such as paddleboarding. Students even spent time doing track cycling at New Zealand’s world class velodrome, “Avantidrome”.

The focus of the camp is to build relationships through shared experiences. The activities are designed to teach our students to have the courage to try something new, and to have confidence and a belief in their own abilities. Most of all, our camps are an opportunity to have fun.
